Hi I'm Karian

I'm from Arizona, I love the Japanese culture and their animation and studying for environmental sciences. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like anything that is out of the ordinary basically. I've cultivated this fascination with an extreme interest in eastern Animation. My favorite director in the whole world is Hayao Miyazaki, and my favorite movie is Princess Mononoke. Asian concepts fascinate me and have inspired me to be different, and i love it!! My favorite books include series such as Fablehaven, Leven Thumps, Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, and a very awesome read Dragons in Our Midst. I love all science, learning about how our universe works and how we're all connected is just awesome to me. I'm especially knowledgeable in Astronomy and Environmental Sciences. Astronomy has been my passion for the past 8 years, and even still looking at the stars today brings such inspiration and wonder into my heart. I am studying in college for Environmental Sciences. I love being out in nature, and enjoying every aspect that it has to offer. It is my dream to work with and for the environment in order to help everyone have a wonderful way of life. It is my honest belief that when we work with nature and the way God established it to work, then our lives here on earth will work just as well.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon, or embracing this amazing and eternal truth is the way to live. Life is a challenge, that is just something that's going to happen to all of us. Through the hope and love that I feel when I pray to my Father in Heaven I know that He hears me. Our pick up line is most often "You are a Child of God." Guess what! It's true! Even among all the troubles in our life, He is our one true parent, and He wants us to come home, so He provided this glorious but narrow path to follow home. It was revealed through Joseph Smith and brought about this wonderful gospel, this amazing and exciting way of life. This Gospel alone gives me hope and comfort in times that I can't understand everything. The tools and access God has given us to get to Him is astounding and I'd challenge anyone to use all of them. These tools are namely the Priesthood, the Holy Ghost, Prayer, and Personal Revelation, and I'm sure there are many more I do not know about. I know this gospel to be true and absolutely sound. God's work will continue and come to culminate in the perfecting of His saints. I know that Jesus Christ was more than just an inspired man, he was the Man to give the ransom for us to go home. I know his atonement is real and is always an active force in our lives whether we have chosen it or not. The question is whether we let this force improve us, or destroy us. I know Joseph Smith was a Prophet called by God, and that is life, which was sealed with his blood, was the greatest work for God's children in this dispensation. I know all of these things to be true, and I also know that there is no end to Truth. I declare and testify of these things in the name of our beloved Brother and Savior, Jesus the Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I am current the second counselor in my Young Single Adult Branch Relief Society. I help to organize and call others to efforts in our church. I love the ladies have been called to work with and to serve. In this calling I have been asked to help with Missionary Efforts. I am very new to this and can definitely use some more learning, but I enjoy helping bring others to the gospel.

What is the Relief Society?

It is what it's name implies. A Society made to help relieve others. Our purpose to to serve others and to really help our community be bound together to become a strong unit. Heavenly Father always knew that the church wouldn't be functional without some sort of system to include the women's smarts. We are the socializing function of the church, we are the grapevine that lets our Priesthood leaders know who needs to be served and what is really going on outside of the church doors. Through our efforts as women our church is complete. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes I do. I do know that there is a living prophet on the earth with the same authority and power as all the ancient prophets in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

When Christ came to earth, He organized His church and appointed the twelve Apostles. Though they were received by many, the majority of the world was not ready for the message of salvation. Because our Father in Heaven saw the hardness of the people's hearts, when the Apostles were taken from the earth, or relieved of active work, He did not appoint any more in their place. But through the mercy of God, the records contained in the bible were preserved to survive through the apostasy. Unfortunately, even through our best efforts, the limits of human knowledge caused inconsistencies to occur in the Bible from translation to translation, and from generation to generation. But because of the awesome efforts of many people in making even the closest translation, the world was slowly prepared to once again receive the message. It is because of the Bible that Joseph Smith became fascinated with this wonderful work and became the key to opening this last dispensation. We needed a restoration because at one point the world was not ready for this great Word, but now it is, and nothing will stop this Word from continuing. Show more Show less
