Hi I'm Dave

I am a husband, father, grandfather. I am in the construction business. I love woodworking, building furniture and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl and have 2 grandchildren, soon to be 3. I love sports, especially football. I have been in the construction business all my life. I've worked in commercial, residential and industrial construction. I enjoy woodworking, building cabinets and all kinds of furniture.

Why I am a Mormon

My family and I joined the church when I was 11 years old. We went on a summer vacation to the mid western United States and came back home through Salt lake City, Utah. My father was interested in the history of the Mormons so we decided to take a tour of Temple Square. We were not members of any church at that time although my mother took me and my brothers to various faiths to receive some sort of religious knowledge. While on the tour there I could feel some strong feelings of familiarity like the things that I was hearing and seeing were part of me. At the end of the tour we watched a short movie entitled "Man's Search For Happiness". It taught of where we came from, why we are here on this earth and where we are going after we die. Everything that I was being taught through this presentation rang so true to me and was so familiar that I had no doubt that these teachings were the gospel of Jesus Christ. My family and I were all later baptized into the church and have had many years of great experiences and happiness. When I was 20 I was called to serve a full time mission for the church in Sao Paulo, Brazil for 2 years. I learned so much about what is important in this life and found all of my answers to finding true happiness through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I gained a strong testimony of the divinity of Jesus Christ as the Son of God. He is my Savior and Redeemer. My experiences as a missionary where wonderful but when I returned home and after a while meet the woman that became my wife, I found even a deeper happiness and joy. I know that through marriage and family life the true meaning of life unfolds. Through these relationships we can make covenants with God and as we keep these covenants we can return back to His presence and gain eternal life.

How I live my faith

I believe that the most important way to live your faith is through giving service to those around you. Service begins in the family and spreads to neighbors and friends. Our Savior Jesus Christ taught us the greatest examples of service and we should strive to emulate that in all we do. I believe that treating others with respect and courtesy and doing unto others as you would have them do unto you is they way the Savior taught us to live our lives. I am currently responsible for the older members of the church to make sure that they are visited and taken care of. I also have the responsibility to encourage members to search out their ancestors and compile their Family History.
