Hi I'm Tatia

I grew up in Australia & moved to the USA 17 years ago. I'm a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family and the heritage to which I belong - Australian, Dutch, German and British. I am proud of where I came from and the sacrifices made by so many along the way. They helped me become the person I am today. I have been married for 16 years and I am the mother of two great children. I love to sew and create beautiful things. I love to garden - we have a family vegetable garden. We like to have Wii and family movie nights - everyone is better at the Wii than I am! And even though I like my sleep, the early morning as the sun starts to rise is my favorite part of the day.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know its teachings to be true. At a young age I prayed about it for myself, and the Holy Ghost burned within my entire being and I knew it was true. When I was called to be a missionary to South Africa 20 years ago, I willingly accepted because I wanted to share with others the incredible joy that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings to my life. I know that I am a daughter of a King, and that He loves me. He knows who I am and what I can become. I have purpose and meaning to my life here on earth. I know that I will be able to see my Heavenly Father again and live in His presence forever.

How I live my faith

I hope that my faith is one that others can see, for it lived through my actions in all that I do - it is who I am. Anyone who believes in something greater than themselves will be one to serve and lift others. They would be a kind and friendly neighbor. They would be a trustworthy and committed employee. These are things I hope others think of and can say about me. I am involved in community service, I participate in my children's school activities, and at church I am responsible for the children's organization (age 18 months - 11 years).

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Tatia
A testimony is a special gift and spiritual witness by the Holy Ghost, given to individuals who seek to know the truthfulness of something. My testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ is based on the following; a knowledge that Heavenly Father lives and loves me (all of us); that Jesus Christ lives, that He is the Son of God, and that He carried out the infinite Atonement; that Joseph Smith is a prophet, who was called by God called to restore Jesus Christ’s church to the earth; that we are led by a living prophet today; and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Savior’s Church restored on the earth today.
