Hi I'm John
I am a husband, father, grandfather, sales professional, and I'm a Mormon.
I have been happily married to my sweetheart for 34 years. We have been blessed with six wonderful children, four of whom are now married to great companions. We have grandchild number 12 on the way. I enjoy my time with my family more than any other pursuit. I currently live in Colorado but have spent 18 years in Georgia, a few in the Chicago area and grew up in Southern California. I have spent my career in sales working for some great companies. My success has been built on helping others succeed, bringing great satisfaction to my work. I enjoy the outdoors, particularly backpacking. This pursuit has allowed me to see some of God's greatest creations and has not only been very rewarding, but has helped to keep me in better health. I also enjoy a good book, movies and watching a few favorite television shows.
Why I am a Mormon
I am a Mormon because God has answered and continues to answer my prayers pertaining to the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Holy Ghost witnesses to me that the words I read, hear and share are pleasing to my Father in Heaven and are elements of His gospel plan. This plan is one by which we can find peace, joy and happiness during both the good and trying times in life. As I have received these witnesses from the Holy Ghost my faith in God has grown and I know that as I do my part that God will bless and sustain me through the challenges in life. The foundation of this faith is my knowledge that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that He has borne my sins and sorrows so that I can repent of my sins and that He, in a literal sense, lives again. Because Jesus Christ has overcome death, I know that the promise of resurrection will be realized by all men.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by trying to do the Lord's will. I realize that God's path for me will bring me back into His presence after death and that I will experienced the greatest joys possible during my mortal life by submitting my will to his. I believe that there are two primary purposes to my life. The first is to do those things that will bring me back to God's presence. The second it to serve my fellowmen and do all I can to help them return to God as well. The other things in life pale in importance compared to these two objectives.
