Hi I'm Sylvia

I'm a Mormon. I live in Eagar, Arizona, but have also lived in New Mexico

About Me

I am a Mormon woman. I am a mom with 5 children and now 24 grandchildren. If think it is a real privilege to be a woman. It is such a blessing to have children. I have been a widow for 20 years. The church programs have helped my fill the years with service and fellowship. I graduated from college with a BS degree and have spent time teaching in classrooms in communities where I have lived. At one time I was the County Red Cross Chairman, I have been a pricinct committeeman and have served several years on the County Fair board. I have taught classes and have held leadership positions in the organizations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throught my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of the "Great Plan of Happiness" that was restored to the earth by the Prophet Joseph Smith. This plan includes following the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Bible and Book of Mormon and receiving the ordinances taught therein. I have followed that plan and have seen the rewards that come by following the teaching of Jesus Christ set forth in that plan. Blessings come from obedience to the Scriptures and the living Prophets. Of greatest worth is that my children know that they are loved by a wise and caring Heavenly Father who hears and answers prayers. They also serve in the community working to make it a better place to live. Families are the center Mormonism. My children and grandchildren, as well as my extended family have so richly blessed my live. Traditions are an important part of being a Mormon. Family reunions in my family have been held every 2 years for the past 50 years is unique.

How I live my faith

Because of the teaching of the Savior Jesus Christ, I have tried to be of service wherever I have  lived. Being able to serve others builds self esteem and gives a sense of self-worth. Music has been a great part of my service. I have likewise enjoyed working with the young people and presently with the women of our ward. Family history is a hobby that has been so rewarding. Finding my "roots" is fascinating to me and helps me understand my own personality. Serving in the community enriches life and brings new friends in every service performed.
