Hi I'm Doug

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been working in the Computer Technology field for the past 32 years. I like to eat out, go to movies, travel when I can, and at the age of 60 I still enjoy working out modestly to try staying in relatively decent shape. My workouts consist of hiking a local mountain once a week and jogging up the high school bleachers 20 -24 times a couple other days of the week. I really enjoy being with and playing with my two grandchildren when I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family whos religious affiliation was protestant, although we seldom attended church. In my youth I attended the Methodist, Presbyterian, Baptist and Unity churches, but when I first began learning about the Mormon church religion finally started making sense. Ever since I have referred to the LDS (Mormon) church as the Church of common sense, because it's doctrine is the most sensible. The church has taught me basic principles and my testimony of God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost, and their purpose for us has grown abundantly. It all does make sense and it is so simple to understand.

How I live my faith

I try to live according to the standards taught by the church in how I speak, dress and respond to the influences constantly around me. I perform a calling in the church. I am currently the secretary of our Ward's High Priest group and I serve in what ever other capacities the church asks of me. I found that by serving in various callings I grow to be a better person.
