Hi I'm Darrin Stokes

I'm a Mormon. I work on reconditioning cars as a career. I am a business owner. I love working with people.

About Me

I grew up in Afton, Wyoming on a farm. I learned to work hard and how a farm works. During my teenage years, I learned much about myself and the gospel. I served a mission to Osaka, Japan. I loved learning about another country, their customs and beliefs. I grew to love the people of Japan. When I returned home, I found a wonderful young lady. We were married in the Temple and had two children. They are now teenagers and are a joy to have around. We like doing alot of things together outdoors. We like camping, backpacking, fishing, hiking, and snowboarding.

Why I am a Mormon

I was taught the gospel of Jesus Christ while I was young since my parents were young. However, there came a time in my teenage life that I needed to find out for myself if these things were true. I had many important decisions to make for my future. I studied the scriptures(both the Bible and Book of Mormon) and prayed to my Heavenly Father for answers. It took alittle while for the answer to come...I had to do my part. When the answer came, it was significant to me in my heart. I knew in my heart, that the things I had been studying, the things that my parents had taught me were true. No one inside or outside the church could presuade my otherwise. I had received my answer from the Lord, through his spirit, to the point that I could not deny it. It came as a sweet, warm, quiet and powerful feeling that I knew came from God. From that point forward, I was able to make those decisions in confidence knowing that this gospel of Jesus Christ was true. Like the decision to serve a mission. I was not going on a mission if I did not know that the church was true. But, because I had received the answer and knew it was true, I was more than willing to serve a mission so that I could serve the Lord and the Japanese people. I have known as far as I can remember that the teaching of the church were good...I just needed to know for myself if it was the true church of Jesus Christ. I have never doubted since and it has brought me much joy in my life.

How I live my faith

Each day I live, I am involved in teaching my children, and volunteering my time and energy to serving the Lord. I have been involved much with the youth of the church. I have taught them and been involved in the Boy Scout program. I believe that this does alot to help the youth of the church to live better lives and to do more of the things that bring them happiness. I love getting involved in the community when I can in doing service for others. I strive to live my life each day as Christ would have me do. It has blessed my family and I to know our Savior and live our lives in accordance to Christ's teachings.
