Hi I'm Jan

I am married to my wonderful husband, Mike. I am an Executive Assistant and I love the Lord and my church.

About Me

I work full-time but am making plans to retire within the next 6-7 years. My husband and I enjoy many things together, i.e. road biking, hiking, playing cards, movies, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. We have one son who lives close by and we love that he lives in the area!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Catholic church and went through 8 years of Catholic grade school. I always had a strong belief in God and I read the scriptures. However, there were too many things that didn't make sense to me in my church, so I started looking into other churches. That was when I ran into a woman who I had worked with but hadn't seen in about 6 months. She was so different, she was just radiant! I asked her what was happening in her life that has made her so happy. She said she had just joined a wonderful church, the Mormon Church. I was excited and told her that I was searching for a new church. She introduced me to the Mormon missionaries and I took their discussions. At first I found it so different from what I grew up believing and felt confused, but I took their challenge to pray about what I learned from them to find out if it was true. I will never forget the answer I received from the Lord. My whole body tingled and I felt wonderful. I knew the church was true and I was baptized at the age of 18.

How I live my faith

I enjoy attending weekly services on Sunday with my husband. It kind of revs me up and helps me feel closer to the Lord and sets me on the right track to go through each week. I enjoy visiting several ward sisters each month to see if they have any needs. It's a great program organized by our women's organization in the church, where every sister is visited and most sisters are assigned 3-4 sisters to visit. I've made many friends through this program. I also enjoy attending and working at our temple. I feel so close to the Lord there and I feel loved.
