Hi I'm Troy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a self-employed CPA in public accounting. I love to read. I love the outdoors and admiring the beauty of nature. I am involved swimming, biking, running and watching sports, like Track and Field and football.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon. I was "converted" as a 14 year old while reading the Book of Mormon. Several years later as 16 year old as I immersed myself in reading all of the scriptures, including the Old Testament, the New Testament and the Book of Mormon. While reading sometimes daily and sometimes for hours on end, I felt the prompting of the Holy Spirit and began having many experiences and miracles that reinforced the power of God in my life and helped me develop a faith that has been able to burn brightly in the midst of all the difficulties that life brings and the blessings that come when we make right choices as opposed to wrong ones. I was privileged to serve as a missionary in New England for 25 months and meet many wonderful people. During this time I had an enormous amount of spiritual experiences that furthered to enhance my faith in Christ and the power he can have in our lives. The Book of Mormon is the Word of God and was written for our day. God had his hand in bringing forth this book for our generation to help testify of the divinity of Christ and his mission to the earth, and the power of the Holy Ghost will truly testify this to anyone who will read it, ponder its messages and open their hearts in prayer to God.

How I live my faith

I am actively involved in my Ward as a member of the High Priest Group leadership. The church provides many opportunities of service which help us to grow spiritually such as cleaning the church, volunteering for work at canneries, helping people move, and being able to visit members on a monthly basis.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Troy
Mormons believe the Bible to be the Word of God and use it frequently. The Bible helps us to know of Jesus Christ and to get closer to him. However, we do not believe the Bible contains all scripture that God intended for his children and that he can and will continue to communicate his will to use through divine inspiration.
