Hi I'm Yunnie

Utahn. Korean. Love doing anything and everything! I'm a missionary in California, so yes, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm currently a missionary in the bay area of California, and I'm LOVING it!!! Aside from being a missionary, I'm a student at BYU in Provo. My ultimate goal is to go to law school. You'll usually find me doing active stuff outside! I'm always down for anything -- from hiking, skiing, snowboarding, or four-wheeling, to reading a book, playing the piano, or drinking some hot chocolate. I play tennis and I swim. I love to hip hop dance, ballroom dance, longboard, sing, and talk to people. I could probably watch movies for days; one of the ways I treat myself is to go to the movies alone (try it! You'll like it too!). But I love music the most. I believe music is what really moves people to do something. I love expressing myself through anything that involves music! Photography, musicals, watching sports.... I really try being involved in all sorts of stuff; might as well enjoy life and do all sorts of hobbies. I like to play sports, and some good friendly competition every so often isn't bad either! I really like getting to know other people and knowing everything about them. It's something that I've been able to do on my mission, and I love it. The bay area is so diverse and hearing everyone's background and story is so awesome! To meet new people everyday is so exciting. I love being a missionary!

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was born into the Church, I haven't always been the best. I've made many mistakes that I've had to repent from, and learn the hard way that disobeying God's commandments isn't worth anything. One night while I was reading the Book of Mormon, it hit me hard for the first time that I need to be better. I have learned that the little sins we do still go a long way. Life has been up and down for me; and through that I've seen God's blessings upon me or the lack of blessings as I go off the strait and narrow path. Now that I'm older, I truly have my own strong testimony of this Gospel and I want to continue to live it so I can have the blessings of eternal life in the end. I'm a Mormon because through life experiences, I've learned that it's the right thing to do! No temporal happiness is worth the eternal happiness that we will get in the end if we strive to follow God's commandments.

How I live my faith

As I've already mentioned multiple times, I'm serving the Lord for 18 months in the bay area of California. This has been the greatest blessing of my life as I have tried to help others to live this faith. To live the gospel means to incorporate it into your life. It has to be a part of you. I used to see church and my life with a slight little wall between the two. But no! the gospel IS you! That's how I live my faith -- by striving to live everyday how I'm supposed to. Forgetting myself and helping others to feel God's love through serving them, even if it's just a smile! I live my faith by trying to do what Christ would do to others!
