Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a teacher, a singer, a jewelry designer, and a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full-time stay-at-home mom and a part-time jewelry designer. I design and make jewelry during my son's nap times and I sell it at home shows, craft fairs, and online. Prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom I was an elementary school teacher. I have been singing, dancing, and acting my whole life. I met my husband one summer during college when we were both serving as Performing Missionaries for the LDS Church in Nauvoo, Illinois. We love to be onstage together, and we hope that our children inherit our musical abilities and passions. I grew up in a home full of energy, sweets, and imagination. My two sisters and I spent our days reading, playing make believe, and putting on performances for our parents. We had a creative, bubbly mother and a hard-working, serious father who brought out his silly side only for his family. It was a wonderful childhood. Unfortunately my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when we were all very young and battled it for 13 years before passing away when I was 21 years old. She set an amazing example of bravery and selflessness for her daughters, always putting us first. When she was bald from chemotherapy and swollen from steroids she posed for a picture with my sister's Mr. Potato Head doll to make us laugh at what could have been a very scary situation for her very young children. At the time of her death, we were greatly comforted by the knowledge that our family is eternal due to the blessings of the temple.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, I have struggled with my faith during some difficult, dark periods of my life. Each time I have come out of that darkness with a stronger conviction and knowledge that the Gospel is true. The Gospel has brought peace and clarity to my life during difficult times, and the principles and guidelines of the Gospel have helped me to make good choices throughout my life that have ensured my long term health, success, and happiness. I can not conceive of what my life would be like without the knowledge of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I do know that it would be a much darker place, and that I would not have the sweet family and happiness that I have now if I had not been striving to live up to my potential by striving to be more like my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by choosing to adhere to the guidelines laid out by the restored gospel of Jesus Christ for happiness. I accept the responsibilities and requests for service that I am given by my church leaders, and I have always been blessed for my efforts. I have found that my dearest friends and most treasured relationships have come to me through socialization and service in the Church.
