Hi I'm Dustin Rogers

I'm a Professional, a Bishop, a Father, a Husband, and a disciple of Christ. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a professional software and business consultant working for a large multi-national software company. As a consultant I help my clients' business run better. This is accomplished through a basic foundation of business principles and understanding the customer's individual needs and business processes. When I am not working I spend my time with my beautiful wife and four children. We love to travel, play at the beach, and watch movies. My wife and I enjoy exercising and love it when we can do so together. Exercising helps us to feel healthy and have the energy to keep up with our children and busy schedules. This year we took the opportunity to run a 200 mile relay race together and with other family and friends. It was awesome to spend that dedicated time with my wife, cheer each other on, and accomplish a meaningful goal. We look forward to the opportunity to continue to accomplish such goals together and with our children as they get older.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and so I was born into the Church. From a young age I was taught who God is, about his Son Jesus Christ, and about the restoration of God’s church through the prophet Joseph Smith. As a child I loved to read scripture stories in the Bible and Book of Mormon and learn about God’s ancient prophets. I was raised in a small Iowa farm town and was the only member in my class. This was a great challenge and opportunity for me to learn and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I decided that I needed to know for myself if the things I had been taught were true and that living standards’ differing from my friends was worth it. In High School I attended early morning church classes were we studied the scriptures. I read the scriptures regularly and prayed about them to know if they were true and how to use them in my life. As I read the scriptures and prayed I felt joy, peace, happiness and a conviction that these things are true. I knew that this was the Holy Spirit testifying to me of these things (see Galatians 5:22-23). Through these experiences and sharing my testimony I gained more confirmations that this is Christ’s church, that Joseph Smith was called of God, and that the Book of Mormon is God’s word and compliments the Bible. I later dedicated two years of my life to spread this knowledge to others. Today I still faithfully live the Gospel of Jesus Christ because I have learned by experience that it is true. Jesus Christ gives me hope in my life, that I can be a better husband, father, and person. He helps me to find true and everlasting happiness and I know that through him I can return to live with God our Father with my family. I know that be living the Gospel and keeping the commandments our lives are blessed. I know that that God loves and is aware of us; I know that Christ will help us if we will let him in our lives; I know that we are God’s children and can live with him again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by constantly striving to remember Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for me. I pray and read scriptures regularly to help me increase and strength my faith in Jesus Christ. As a Father I teach my children about Christ, who he is, and about the restoration of the Gospel. As a family we go to Church weekly, partake of the sacrament, and study the Gospel. Currently I serve as a Bishop over a congregation of members. It is my pleasure to serve God’s children and help increase their faith in Christ through prayer, scripture study, Church attendance and living the Gospel. I know that as we serve God’s children we are serving him and fulfilling his will. In the scriptures Christ always stopped to help those in need and it is my goal in life to do the same. I also have the great opportunity to work with the youth of the Church. I am amazed by their spirit, testimony, and power to do good. I love to watch their testimonies of Christ grow and see how living the Gospel can bring them true happiness.
