Hi I'm Sterling

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I'm married with 3 kids. I work in online marketing. I love sports, movies, food and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

The first thing you need to know about me is that my family is my life. I have a beautiful wife and 4 amazing kids. They truly are the joys of my life. I am a huge movie buff and can watch a movie over and over without getting tired of it. I also have a weird ability to remember lines from movies after only one viewing. Food and sports are my passions. I love to cook, but not as much I love to eat. When I was younger I played practically every sport I could. Unfortunately, injuries got the best of me. Now, golf is the only sport I really play. I love traveling and experiencing new things. But more than anything I enjoy spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS faith. My parents taught me about Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father's plan for us. As I grew up in the church I realized that I needed to gain a personal testimony of the things my parents had taught me. I had read the Book of Mormon before, but when I was 18 I decided to ask Heavenly Father if it was true. I was filled with a very happy feeling. It's hard to explain, but I knew that I had received an answer to my prayer and that the Book of Mormon was the word of God and another testament of the Lord Jesus Christ. When I turned 19 I served a mission to Chile, where I truly learned what it means to give service. I learned so much about my Savior and his sacrifice for me. It is so humbling to know that he suffered for my sins. I know that through our Heavenly Fathers plan that we can be forgiven of our sins. I know Jesus Christ provided a way for us to be forgiven and to return and live with Him. I know that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ and that he restored the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that we have prophets on the earth today that teach the word of God. I know that through the power of the priesthood I can be with my family forever. I am Mormon because I am a child of God and I want to follow Him - Because following Him is the only way to experience true happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in everything I do (at least I try). I love meeting new people and being social. I was a Sunday school teacher for several years and I absolutely loved it. Sometimes I think I learned more than my class. I try to be a good example to everyone around me. I have found that giving service to people in need is a great way to put life into perspective.
