Hi I'm Steve

New father of baby girl, going to grad school and working for an Internet company. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am almost done with a 5 and a half year dual masters degree going part time to school while I work full time at a local Internet company as a product engineer. At the beginning of my school journey I married a beautiful womanand a fews years after that we had a little girl added to our family. Needless to say I am a pretty busy person, although my wife and I like to still take time and go on dates, go running together and mountain bike whenever we get the opportunity. It is a better workout when you are pushing or pulling a 20 pound one year old!

Why I am a Mormon

The Lord seems to have played a bigger role in my life and coming to know him than what I realize. I have had several experiences where he has taught me that he is real and aware of me and that he loves me. Sometimes I was seeking Him to try and come to know Him, other times I wanted to choose another path, but it was very evident that He wants me to come to Him and has a plan for me in this life. I know that the Lord lives and loves me and is making me into the person that he wants me to. Sometimes it is hard to go through these experiences that test my patience and make me grow, but when they are over they always help me realize that He is real and that He knows me and knows my needs. It is because of this knowledge that I have gained throughout my life that there is a Savior that I have chosen to join His church that He restored and live my life according to the way that He would have me live. I love Him and try my best to honor Him in all that I do.

How I live my faith

I have had several opportunities to help others in the community, whether teaching kids on Sundays to lending help to neighboors move. I currently help our bishop by setting up appointments for him to meet with the members and work with his schedule so that he can be beneficial to them in the time that he has to give them. I meet with a few families each month to help them understand the gospel and to offer my assistance if they need it. Occasionally these families have needed someone to help them watch their house while they were away or care for their kids when an emergency came up. Serving others helps me to be happier and forget my own worries in life.
