Hi I'm Mark McOmber

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California and was active in school and sports all through high school. I went on to college at BYU and then to medical school and additional training took place in Kentucky and then Texas. I was married while at BYU and we began our family shortly thereafter. We have four wonderful kids and now live in Arizona where I work as a physician for children with intestinal problems. I like the work I do but my family is my greatest love.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up learning about Jesus Christ in my family. Challenges came early and I remember praying to understand how to overcome these challenges. My younger brother died when I was 9 years old. The teachings about an eternal family that could not be separated by death helped me live with the struggle of losing my best friend. However, I didn't want to continue on with foolish hopes so I prayed to know if all these teachings about eternal families were true. My prayers were answered and I learned personally that God loved me and listened to my prayers and that a family really can be eternal- to enjoy all the relationships that were built here on earth.

How I live my faith

I have been very involved in my church community. I have enjoyed being a teacher at times and a student at others. I am currently involved with visiting families in their homes for teaching and service. I have been asked to be a teacher for the adults for Sunday School and then recently was given responsibilities of leadership and teaching in the group of men from our community.
