Hi I'm Cheryl

I love family, friends, dancing, music, fun, and laughter! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of 8 kids. I have come to grips that even though I keep getting older, I will ALWAYS be the baby. I love being aunt to all my nieces and nephews! I enjoy cooking, racquetball, volleyball, composing music, singing, and music in general. I am addicted to sunsets and the smell of desert rain. I love being around people and getting to know them!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up being a Mormon. Throughout my life, I have always felt the love of my Heavenly Father and the peace my faith has brought into my life. There did come a time however, when I really wanted to know if this gospel was true, and if the Book of Mormon was a real book and testament of Jesus Christ. Was Joseph Smith a true prophet, or did I just believe these things because it was how I was brought up? I decided to pray to my Heavenly Father and ask if these things were really true. I knew he would answer my prayers and had faith that I would receive an answer. As I prayed, I felt a complete peace. There was no question or doubt that followed, just peace. I knew this was an answer from God. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ has continued to bring me peace, happiness, and comfort into my life. The Lord continues to remind me of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as I live Christ’s teachings.

How I live my faith

As I live my faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ, I like to attend church. There, I am able to learn more about Jesus Christ, feel the Holy Spirit, serve others, and partake of the sacrament. Serving is a key in my life. Christ was the greatest example of service. If I am feeling down, I know I need to stop thinking about myself and serve someone! Another vital part living my faith is reading the scriptures. Through reading in the scriptures I have found so many answers to my prayers. I can feel the spirit, and receive inspiration as I read the stories of the prophets. Something that is very important to me is prayer. I pray to my Heavenly Father daily. He has unconditional love for me and all of His children. I can thank Him for all he has blessed me with, ask Him for blessings, receive comfort, inspiration, empathy, love, and the list goes on. Developing a relationship with my Heavenly Father through prayer has been an important guide in my life.
