Hi I'm Jonathan

I grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina. I am currently serving as a missionary in the Utah, Ogden Mission and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My most favorite hobby in the world is to draw! I am most certainly not the best artist, but it is fun to doodle little cartoons and to make caricatures of my friends. I love to watch movies and I even help make videos with my dad. We make short films and also little videos for people's companies to put on their websites. I like to learn how to do knew things and I love to help others. Service is one of my favorite things ever!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. I am a 3rd generation mormon on my dad's side of the family. My grandparents joined the church when my father was just a baby. So I have grown up into the church. I never really had one specific moment when I KNEW that this gospel was true. I always assumed as I grew up that everything that I was told was truth. So in a way, I was living off of the testimonies of my parents. I do remember one occasion however, when I was younger and I was talking to my brother in our kitchen. I kinda asked out of the blue something about God. Then I realized, "You know, if so many people in the world believe in God, He must exsist." That may be the defining point when I truely started to add on to my own personal testimony. As I hear other's testimonies, it really strengthens mine. I don't believe I have ever had a doubt that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true I know that this church is true. I know that Christ Lives. He is my Savior. He is your Savior. He is at the head of His church today and he leads and guides us just as He did when he was in His earthly ministry. Joseph Smith WAS a prophet and he saw God, our Heavevnly Father and His son, Jesus Christ. Through Joseph Smith, the gospel was restored and he translated the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is the most correct of any book on this earth. I know that because I have read it. I have prayed about it. I recived an answer even though I had always known. Christ revealed to me, through the Holy Ghost, that the words in that book are true and they are the words of God. You can know for yourself. Read. Ponder. Pray. Ask. I promise you can know for yourself.

How I live my faith

I like to compare my testimony to a rubberband ball. At the very center of the ball is a single rubberband or balled up piece of paper or whatever you may use to start one. I like to use only rubberbands. So, that very center rubberband represents my testimony at the beginning. One single hope that this church is true. But what I came to realize as I got older and more involved in the church, I noticed my rubberband ball was getting bigger. Why? It is because I heard the testimonies of others and one by one, testimony by testimony were added to mine. My testimony was stregthened and grown. Even today, my testimony continues to increase, or my rubberband ball keeps getting bigger. If you allow others to share their testimonies with you, your testimony will in turn grow as well. Keep adding rubberbands. Keep strengthening. That is how I have always built my testimony, by accepting the invitations of other's teachings and their knowledge so that my knowledge and faith could grow. But it is more than adding knowledge. It is constantly applying what is being taught. by excercing faith that those principles are true. Currently, I am living the gospel by serving a full-time mission for the church. I am serving in the Utah, Ogden mission and I get the wonderful opportunity to talk to people about the church all day, every day! I rely on the spirit to guide me and my companion and strive to be obedient to recieve inspiration of who we should talk to to bring them unto Christ.
