Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a poli sci nerd. I have a slight addiction to cowboy boots, and a tiny fetish for hello kitty. I'm a Mac. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full time college student. I am a marathon finisher. I love my family! and all 33 of my cousins who live within a 3 mile radius of my house. I adore my kiddos I nanny. I love words and how they can be used to articulate the most simplest truths or exasperating tall tales. I love to laugh, a lot. I am delighted by great art. I love to learn. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy. I am a goal oriented person and I like/ need to have a plan. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints provides the ultimate plan- The Plan of Happiness. And I like being happy even more than having a plan. This plan has all the answers: where I came from, what I need to do in my life, and what happens when I die. Awesome, right? I am a Mormon because I always have a reason to be happy and to have hope.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. And at Arizona State University by me living the standards of the church (dressing modestly, not cursing, not relying on coffee to survive finals, not drinking and crazy partying, being genuinely happy, and remembering how I spent every weekend) I am definitely unique and stand out. And I love it! It requires me to know exactly where I stand in my faith and what I will and will not participate in/ believe/ or live. I am not given the luxury of glossing through the 'decision decade' of my life without a firm and unmovable testimony of my Savior, Jesus Christ.

What is the Relief Society?

Ashley
Relief Society is probably my favorite thing about the Mormon church. It is the one hour of church where it is just the ladies of the church. We get to be together, learn, share, laugh, sometimes cry together, bear our testimonies, sing, and be a strength for each other. Life isn't easy (and its not suppose to be) but it is so much more bearable and enjoyable when you know you have others to lean on and vise versa. I especially love hearing from the other ladies and the trials they are facing and how they are coping with them successfully and sometimes not so successfully; and it's comforting to know that hey others struggle too, I'm not the only one with this, and we can all keep moving forward together. Relief Society is the best support group one could ever wish for. And where ever in the world you go you know that there will always be Relief Society sisters there to love you. Show more Show less
