Hi I'm James

I grew up in Hawaii and now live in Arizona! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Hawaii near the beach and always enjoyed the ocean and outdoor activities, such as body surfing and playing volleyball. As a native hawaiian and attending a school for native hawaiians, I have grown to appreciate my culture as well as the rich diversity of cultures and ethnic backgrounds of my school mates and people of Hawaii. I am a father of four and happily married and now living in Arizona. I have worked with computers for many years, and was able to graduate from college and graduate school with degrees in information systems, and have made a successful career to support my family. I have also been active in Boy Scouts for over ten years as a scoutmaster and have really enjoyed working with young men and sharing my love for the outdoors and helping them learn and prepare to be the future leaders of our communities and nation. I enjoy working with people and sharing about myself and learning about others.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with parents who became members when I was one year old. I grew up among loving people who taught me about Jesus Christ and His gospel, both in the home and at church. Many of my friends were also members of His church and we grew up and shared the richness of His gospel in our lives and with our families. My mother has a particularly strong testimony and raised me and my two siblings to be strong in the church. I was able to gain my own testimony and conversion after much study and fervent prayer. I know the Lord answers our prayers and sends the Holy Ghost to testify of the truthfulness of His gospel. The Holy Ghost brought a deeply warm and comforting feeling into my heart and soul and then I knew that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. My parents and many other church members have spoken about this, but I had to experience it for myself to know the truth. It came to me after considerable effort on my part after studying and pondering the Book of Mormon, and praying with faith and sincerity. I'm a mormon because I know this is His gospel and His church. I have been married in His temple and know that our family can be together forever. Family live isn't always easy and there are many trials and difficulties. As we pull together as a family, we strengthen each other and learn patience, love, and understanding. I know Heavenly Father's plan for us and that this is why we are here on the earth to learn to be like Him and learn the valuable lessons that we can only learn in life.

How I live my faith

I have served as a scoutmaster for 10 years and worked with many dozens of young men to help them achieve their Eagle Scout rank, including my own sons. Through scouting, I have been able to touch the lives of many young men and share my love for the outdoors and for each other and for the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also serve currently as a ward missionary and able to help share my love for the gospel with many people, both members and non-members. I am able to teach Sunday School lessons about the gospel and also able to help touch many lives. My wife and children are also active in the church and together we are able to live and share the gospel with many people.
