Hi I'm Vince

I’m a chemical engineer, an energy professional, a happy husband and father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small farming community and was encourage by my parents to go to college and pursue my interests and talents. This has led to a rewarding career as I have been able to have a positive impact on society by finding ways to balance our need for energy with environmental responsibility. I love the outdoors and enjoy spending time with my family while skiing in the winter and camping and fly fishing in the summer. I also enjoy golf although I am not very good. My wife, DeeAnn, and I have been together for over 35 years and we have 6 wonderful children and 13 delightful grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up in a Mormon family, I learned for myself through study and prayer that God lives. I also discovered that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it contains the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit bore witness to me in my heart and my mind that this is true. I have no doubts. I had the opportunity as a young man to take a break from my college studies and serve as a missionary in Japan. I learned to love Japan as I spent two years sharing my testimony of the restored Gospel with the good people of Japan.

How I live my faith

I do my best to follow the commandments of Jesus Christ and to serve those around me.

Are Mormons Christians?

Many question if Mormons are Christians. Most people have been profoundly misinformed about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Unfortunately, there are those who knowingly and intentionally perpetuate this misinformation. While it is true that we do not accept some of the Christian traditions passed down through the ages, we believe that the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored through a modern day prophet. Christ is the center of our lives. We talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all that we can do. Show more Show less
