Hi I'm Kate

I grew up in Murray, Utah. Moved to Arizona 1988. I am happily married and have been blessed with 3 beautiful children.

About Me

I am the youngest of 8 children and grew up on a dairy farm. Graduated in Communications from the University of Utah. Married my high school sweet heart. Miscarried with complications at 24. Nearly died from internal bleeding. We have been blessed through adoption - 3 times. Who says there are no more miracles! I was fortunate to stay home with my little miracles full time for most of their childhood. We are a happy family and just keep trying to love and care for each other and enjoy everyday with its challenges and joys. I love being a wife, mother, daughter, sister, going to the movies, old movies(especially musicals), the theatre, hiking, camping, playing cards, cooking, Halloween parties, Jane Austin, walking, jogging, biking and my Beagle, Casey

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I feel and realize the power of my Heavenly Father's and Jesus Christ's love for me through the gift of the Holy Ghost every day. As I draw nearer to them in prayer, scripture study, and by pondering them I know they are there, this is their church and the world may crumble around me,yet I will know no other source that can bring such peace, assurance and joy. I was born and raised in the church, but like every convert, I had to come to my own realization and deep felt knowledge that it is true. I see it like this little parable. During a storm with hard rain, wind and darkness outside some members of the family are already in the house (those born and raised in the gospet). They see the storm outside and know that they don't want to go out in it. Others are outside of the home looking for a way to come in. When they find their way (converts) we are all in the house together - warm, comfortable and full of love and gratitude for our home and family, where love and truth abounds. The gospel is true. I have had too many miracles in my life to think otherwise. Each time I feel the promptings and inspiration of the Holy Ghost, feel the love and warmth of other church members, feel the strong bonds of our family that is Christ centered I can not deny that it is true for I know I would be denying all that makes life meaningful. I enjoy happiness in this life and look forward to the life to come by knowing I am a daughter of God, by being a follower of my Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ and by listening for and acting upon the very personal revelation that comes from the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

Now I am not perfect by any stretch of the term. But I try my best out of love for Heavenly Father and my Savior. I live by this phrase "God does not begin by asking us our ability, but only about our availability, and if we then prove our dependability, he will increase our capability" I strive to be a disciple of Christ by being a good mother and wife and putting every effort into my family. I visit with other sisters in the ward - keeping track of how they and their families are doing and if there is anything I can do for them. For the past several summers I have been involved wtih Girls camp where young women 12-17 go for a week to grow in spirit and ablities. I've had the opportunity to work with Cub Scouts and help form a good foundation for citizenship and learning their duties to God, country and family. Every day I strive to bring joy to others through kindness, smiling, listening and understanding. I pray to know how I can help them and to feel the love of God and know as I do that He cares for them and knows them and watches over them and to find peace and joy all we have to do is seek after Him.
