Hi I'm Dave

I'm a father of four. I'm a CPA. I'm a road biker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a proud father of four who has made Colorado home for most of life. When not working as a financial executive I spend what time is left with my wife and kids or riding my bike. Before life got busy with family and work I was an avid sports fan and ski junkie. I think I managed to spend more days on the slopes during my graduate schooling than I did in the classroom and still enjoy the all too rare ski day during the week. I can't imagine trading the busy life I have now for the carefree life I once had, as the rewards of watching my kids learn and grow are without comparison.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and probably took many of its teachings for granted as I grew up. Many life experiences have helped me take what I inherited (my Mormon heritage) and transform it into something that I hold as my own, independent of heritage. I appreciate the simplicity of the gospel. I believe that God created each one of us and that He has a plan that we can return to live with Him and our families. To empower us to return to live with Him, He sent his son Jesus Christ to live a perfect life and pay the price of our shortcomings, enabling us to choose to follow Christ's example and become perfect through the power of His sacrifice. He wants us to be happy and I believe that happiness can be achieved through seeking out and following His plan. I believe that the Mormon church gives me the tools to learn of Christ's plan and to live it. One of those tools is modern day prophets and apostles. Just as Christ called Peter to lead the church in ancient times, I believe that He as called a Prophet today to help us understand His teachings and will for us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through serving in the church wherever there is assistance needed. Sometimes it is teaching a youth Sunday School class on short notice, other times it is providing financial counsel to those that need it and yet other times it is helping move someone to a new home. Outside of the church, I try to live my faith by always acting with integrity and showing concern for others through charitable service. I am amazed at how many opportunities there are to serve in our communities through food and toy drives and participate as often as possible.
