Hi I'm Rollin

I'm a Mormon. I'm a husband, a father to 4 wonderful children, a small-business owner, and involved in the community.

About Me

I love the outdoors - camping, hiking, and just being in nature. I love the peace and serenity that is there. Plus being able to enjoy all of God's natural creations. I love sports - any and all sports. I enjoy playing basketball when time permits. I love to excercise. I've participated in several triathlons, even with my oldest son. Cycling is my favorite event. I could ride forever. There is freedom that comes from working under your own power to move great distances. Someday I will complete an ironman triathlon. I am an entrepreneur. I own my own business providing technology support for doctor's offices. I have several other business ideas that I have been developing over the years. The tough part is finding a work and family balance. I could spend every waking hour working on my business. I choose not to because my family comes first. Finding this balance is very tough because everything literally depends on me. My wife is extremely supportive of me. I live to serve. I look for opportunities to help in the community and give back when possible. I'm an extremely positive person. Life is too short to have a negative outlook. Being a part of the community helps me to stay grounded and connected. I have volunteered to coach basketball for my children over the years. Plus having the opportunity to participate in Boy Scouts of America allows me to give back.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents both are mormons. I grew up going to church my entire life. But at sometime I knew that I couldn't rely on their knowledge to carry me through life. I had to know for myself. I came to know for myself as a teenager that this church is true. I believe that God answers our prayers. He loves and knows each of us. After reading the Book of Mormon daily I would pray to know if this church was. After several months of asking the Holy Ghost let me know that it was the true church. The decision has been tested over the years as I served as a missionary. You are questioned everyday about your beliefs. Also while doing business people ask about my beliefs. Plus having many difficult times in life have helped re-confirm the choice that I made. My business has struggled during this difficult recession. We have had 4 miscarriages and a still-born in the last 5 years. It would be easy to ask "Why would God have us go through this?" Instead I have asked "What do I need to learn from this?" I have turned to my Savior, Jesus Christ, to comfort me. I know that He lives. These trials have confirmed this to me. I have gained an long-term, eternal perspective. My decisions help me to return to live with God again. I will be held accountable for my decisions. I know that I can live with my family again if I keep the commandments. I'm grateful everyday for the Holy Ghost answering my prayers confirming God lives and that this is His true church

How I live my faith

Everyday my faith is strengthen in my Savior, Jesus Christ. Being a business owner I have to stay true to my standards. It would be easy to participate in happy hours or hanging out with clients at bars drinking. Instead I make sure that they know that I have choosen to keep my body healthy and strong. Also my values are testing in being honest in dealing with my client's and employees. It would be easy to lie a little or cheat on a few things to get ahead. Instead I made the decision early in life to be honest. I always ask what would I want if I was on the other side of the table. Keeping my integrity intact is more important that earning a few extra dollars on a contract now. I enjoy working with the youth age 12-14 in my congregation (ward). I love their enthusiasm to learn. We go camping every month. They love to be challenged. Being able to help shape and mold them in their youth is exciting. We teach them fundamental leadership skills that will benefit them for life.
