Hi I'm Tamsen

I am a stay at home mom I have four daughters and I am a Mormon

About Me

I enjoy spending time with my family! We love to hang out together and work together. We have good discussions around the dinner table and we laugh a lot at our own mistakes. I enjoy serving others. When I'm having a bad day if I do something for someone else I feel better. In my free time I love to read all kinds of fiction but mostly young adult, and some self help books. I love to exercise and take care of my body because I had a period in my life when my health was not good and I was not able to do those things. It made me realize how precious good health is. I enjoy traveling with my Husband and children and creating good memories that they will remember. I also love to cook and enjoy teaching my girls how to make different things.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a partly active Mormon home and was baptized when I was 8. I attended Church with my Mom and my younger siblings until I was about 14 when my Mom fell away from the Church for a time. I was confused as a teenager and stopped going my self. At age 24 I found my self with a beautiful 2 year old daughter and realized I wanted her to have a solid foundation and a knowledge of a loving Heavenly Father. I started to remember the things I was taught as a young child and had a strong desire for her to learn the same things. I began to turn my life around. I went to the Bishop and started a repentance process. I started praying and reading my scriptures faithfully. I started attending the local ward and I began to feel a peace come into my life. Something I hadn't experienced in a very long time. Others started noticing as well that something was different about me. I was happy and felt joy and love for my fellow man. I never wanted the feeling to end. As I prayed to know if the book of mormon was true I felt an amazing warmth flow throughout my whole being . The more I studied and prayed the more I knew that my Heavenly Father was aware of me and helping me come back to him. After a year I was able to go to the beautiful Provo Temple and receive my endowments. I have never looked back on that time of growth with regret. I gained a testimony of what is true and nobody can ever take that away from me. I know we have a living Prophet on the earth today. I know that our Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. He gives us strength and peace as we go through trials and never leaves us alone. He helps us learn and grow so we can become more like him. It has been 20 years since that time in my life and I am thankful for the lessons I have learned and the ones I continue to learn as I do my best to raise my sweet family in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

The past five years I have worked with the women in our ward. Loving them, teaching, listening, learning, crying with and rejoicing with them in their everyday lives. We have worked together to do service projects for the needy in the community and in our own church. Running food drives. Visiting the sick. Making meals for families in need. Attending the Temple together to do service there and loving and supporting each other. We have learned the importance of families. Of having food storage in times of disaster. Of being prepared both spiritually and physically when disaster strikes. I have also learned that we are never alone. Our Heavenly Father is always there for us. I love to take my children each month to the temple to serve there when they turn 12 years of age. It is a place to feel true peace when the world is so crazy and I love sharing that experience with them. I attend all of my church meetings and do so happily for it is there that I always learn something good. I love serving whether it is my family, my church members, my neighbors or my community. For when I serve I feel true joy! I am so thankful for a church that gives us an opportunity to stretch grow by learning to love one another and serve one another just as the Savior did.
