Hi I'm Joanne

I grew up in a small Eastern Colorado town, Strasburg. I was a devout member of a Protestant Church for 26 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in a wonderful family in Colorado as a devout Lutheran, and am a convert to the Church. My husband and I joined the church in 1969, when our eldest son was two years old, and both of us feel our membership in the Church of Jesus Christ has blessed our lives and the lives of our family in many ways. I am active in my community and in the political arena. I am a Wife, a Mother of four, a grandmother of eleven, a citizen - and try to be a good friend to all I meet. I love music, play the piano and organ, and enjoy singing. I was blessed to know that Jesus Christ is my Savior when I was only 12 years old, and singing in a school choir. I am grateful, joyful, and confident in my decisions, mostly because of my faith in Jesus Christ. My faith has given me strength and courage when times have been hard, and joy when times are good!

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know the Church is guided by our Savior, Jesus Christ. Even though I didn't know everything about the Church in the beginning, I knew it was the right thing to do, and have never looked back, or regretted my decision for even a minute! My membership has given me confidence to make good decisions and blesses my life every day.

How I live my faith

I try to do the best I can with the talents and abilities I have been given. I know that this mortal life is but for an instant, and I want to use my time wisely. I try to be an influence in the lives of my children and grandchildren. I work in the community. I watch for those whose hands hang down, as it says in Hebrews 12:12, and try to lift them up whenever I can. I LOVE people, and truly want to be a light and a beacon to those who need hope or who live in darkness.
