Hi I'm Charlie

I'm a mom, a law student, and the wife of a law school grad. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently most of my time is taken up with school and our kids. In many ways I feel like I am experiencing a second childhood. I am learning to play football with my four year old and I'm learning to do hair and make up with my teenager. I am dating my sweetheart and imagining all sorts of amazing things with my nine year old. It is a great time in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and for a long time I just took it for granted. One day a teacher at church started speaking about the experience of Joseph Smith. All of a sudden I realized how absurd the story sounded. I also realized that there was no way to explain away his story as symbolic or in some other way less than what he said. His claims were bold and literal. At that moment I realized that I had to know about these things myself. Over the years since, I have developed a testimony of the church through trial and error. As I have lived it's precepts and commandments, I have seen the promises that Jesus made to the apostles in his time come true in my life and I have been happy. When I have lived another way those blessings have been absent from my life and I have been unhappy. Today I am a Mormon out of a desire to receive the blessings promised by Jesus Christ and out of gratitude for their presence in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day by day. I try to serve were I can in the community and at church. At church I am responsible for making sure that Missionaries have a place to eat dinner. At home I try to be patient and loving with my kids and husband. In the community I try to volunteer to do the less glamorous jobs that no one else wants to do, but most need to be done.
