Hi I'm Erik

I'm a husband and a father, I'm a real estate analyst. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband to the most wonderful woman, and father to two of the most incredible little girls. I recently went back to schol for my Masters degree at age 31, and am so glad that I did it. I am an amature handyman that can't say no to a project at my house or the neighbors'. I am a weekend warrior cyclist that loves the long rides, but always seem to find an excuse to cut my ride short to get home to my family. My most consistent activities are coloring with crayons, singing ABCs, hide-and-seek, and everything else a 2 year old little girl loves to do with her dad.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that is active in the church so I've been a member my whole life. My parents taught me the standards of the church and continue to be great examples to me. But there was a time in my life when I knew that I had to discover for myself that this is Christ's church and that everything that I had been taught really was true. It was through diligent prayer, honestly reading The Book of Mormon, and consistently seeking for revelation that I finally felt the Holy Ghost teach me that this is Christ's true church. I know that God speaks to the world through a living prophet just like he did in the stories of the Bible. He chose a young man named Joseph Smith to organize His church in our time, and to translate the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is record of God's people that lived on the american continents, and that it is by this book that a man will grow closer to God. The standards of the church my seem to restrict and confine, but I have been able to stay true to these standards and have great freedoms in this life that my friends or family members have lost because they chose not to live by these same standards. I know that Christ leads this church through a prophet and that by following His teachings found in both the Bible and the Book of Mormon my family and I will be able to live heaven with God and Jesus Christ again.

How I live my faith

My current calling or service in the church is Ward Mission Leader. I go and serve with the missionaries that are in my area to help find people for them to teach and then to help teach. I love teaching and have a lot of fun with the missionaries. I also teach a Sunday School class called Gospel Principles. This is a class that covers the basics of the church teachings. It is a class for those who are learning about the church, are new members of the church, or returning to the church. It is a lot of fun, and I am still learning too. I also live my faith through my daily actions. I have two beautiful daughters and hope to have a few more kids. They, like I did, will see how the teachings of the church have affected my life and hopefully they too will learn for themselves that this Christ's only church on the earth.
