Hi I'm Charlie

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in San Diego California and am a marketing and sales professional.

About Me

I'm a proud father of 5 wonderful children four boys and one girl, I have three grand sons and am married to a wonderful woman that I was lucky to meet when I was just 21 years old. I have had the priveledge of traveling though out the United States, Canada, and five countries internationally as an accomplished platform speaker. In all my travels I have come to realize that there is no better place to raise a family than Denver Colorado. My hobbies and interests include spending time with family members, the outdoors, wakeboarding, raquetball, and outings with the youth.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a convert to the church of Jesus Christ of Lattterday Saints and was baptised at age 8 along with other members of my family, but for reasons unknown to myself by age 9 we were no longer attending. I once again engaged in attending church when I was 14 and in high school. My involvement with other youth and early morning seminary soon became all encompassing, and I not only gained a personal testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel for myself, but it was then that I made the committment that I would serve a full time mission for the church once I turned 19 years old. I did just that, and 11 days after I turned 19, I entered the Provo MTC and would soon be off to the land of the frozen chosen (Alaska Anchorage Mission). That was one of the best decisions I could have ever made, and from there I returned home where shorly there after I met my wonderful wife. Our lives have been abundantly blessed. Our two oldest sons are now returned missionaries, married in the temple with young families of their own. Our third son is serving his mission currently, and our fourth has received his call and will be heading out later in the year. As for our daughter, she is wonderful young woman who has her own testimony of the church. Being able to answer the three important questions which are; Where did I come from? Why am I here, and Where will I go after this life? coupled with an understanding that families can be together forever, is exactly why I am a member of this great church. I'm a slow learner, but have come to realize that true happiness comes from serving others, and where can one possibly learn better than from within the walls of their own home.

How I live my faith

I currently serve along side our great bishop as his second counselor and as such one of my responsibilities is working with the youth. In fact, the majority of my callings in the church have involved the young men specifically. I have loved through the years being involved with various service projects, camp outs, 50 mile hikes, temple trips and the like with the youth of the church. Having had the opportunity to work along side and teach and be taught by these great kids and being able to see them grow to adulthood and go on to have families of there own has been very rewarding. Being a member of this church is a sacrifice because it involves much more than Sunday worship, it's a way of life and I am so thankful to be a part of it.
