Hi I'm Lori

I'm a mom, a wife & a Real Estate Agent. I'm a baseball "team mom", horse lover, Michael Jackson's biggest fan and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Colorado and absolutely love it here. The sun shines for at least part of every day year round and the mountains are beautiful. Anytime I’ve come home after being away from Colorado for an extended period of time, the mountains just seem to welcome me back. I have four beautiful kids that keep me running all the time. They seem to play every sport there is though we are a “baseball family” and I am their biggest fans. I love camping, horseback riding (though I traded my horse for my second son), cooking and 80’s music with Michael Jackson being my all time fav. I have a degree in equine science from Colorado State but somehow wound up being a Real Estate agent. I love the flexibility my job affords so that I can have time with my family. I’m slowly easing back into horseback riding again and if I could just learn to live with 4 hours of sleep I’d probably ride a lot more.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom joined the church when I was 3 or 4 so I've basically been a member for as long as I can remember. My dad never joined though so we weren't your "typical" Mormon family. However, I was always lucky to have friends in the church who would "lend me" their fathers & the priesthood blessings that came from them. I've never doubted the truthfulness of the church though I haven't always had a full understanding of it & still work to gain more understanding today. The goodness & sincerity of the people in the church have helped me my entire life & is what keeps me grounded here. I know the teachings of this gospel are true because I feel it inside. The church instills values into me & into my kids that are lacking in this age more than ever. They say it takes a village to raise a child & I appreciate my "village" tremendously. Interestingly I feel now that because I'm a mom, most of the teachings of the gospel are much more easy to understand. God is my father. As my parent he wants of me the same things I want of my children. He wants me to be honest & loving, to keep in touch with him every day, to tell him what I need and he wants to help and does help when I ask for it. He wants me to learn & to stay educated. He wants me to take care of myself physically & spiritually. He wants me to share with my "brothers and sisters" & to help them as much as I can. And he wants me to come back home when I'm done with my journey.

How I live my faith

What makes me live my life as a member of this church is knowing that our faith contains the fullness of truth that other non-members that I know are so obviously missing out on. I love knowing that I'm not just here by chance but that there is a plan for me to return to my Father in Heaven. I love learning about where I came from and learning how I can get back. I love helping others and service is such a big part of our faith. I've been very blessed by service from others throughout my life and I want to return that blessing to others if at all possible. I try to set a good example for my kids, my family and the people that I am around. When I have an assignment in the church I accept it - I worry that I am not always the best one for the job, but it's very clear to me that this church works so smoothly because all are involved and all do their part. Mostly I just try to be a good person. My hope is that others who see me know my faith plays a big part in who I am and will respect and admire me for that.
