Hi I'm Jared

I'm originally from the small town of Kamiah Idaho. I've been an ARMY Physician for the last 9 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife an our 5 kids live in San Antonio Texas. The Church is strong in this area. We live minutes from the San Antonio Temple and our congregation chapel is within walking distance (on days when it is not too hot). We've lived in Texas for the last 3 years but have lived many other places during my Medical and Military Training - to include Washington DC, Olympia Washington, and Albuquerque New Mexico. My medical specialty is Pathology and my Subspecialty is Hematopathology (diseased of the blood). Our favorite activities include watersports on nearby Canyon lake and enjoying Texas style BBQ with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I feel it is true and living the teachings brings peace and joy into my life. My parents were good examples to me and I raised in a loving home where we followed Jesus Christ's example and followed the teachings of his prophets. When I was in my first year of college, I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon and recieved a testimony of the truthfulness of the teachings of the prophets who wrote these sacred scriptures. I made a decision at that time to follow Jesus Christ for the rest of my life, and I began by volunteering for a 2 year mission. I was called to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Northern Argentina and gained an even stronger testimony of the teachings of Christ as I witnessed first hand the blessing recieved by those that live the commandments of God and the pain and agony experienced by those who do not. I know that God is a loving Father in Heaven and wants all of his children to have joy during this earthly experience. I know that he restored his Gospel to the earth today so that we can have that joy. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer and he lives.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by actively participating in my local congregation. I have been asked to be the leader of the missionary efforts and have the priviledge of helping the young missionaries assigned to our area teach individuals who are interested in knowing more about our faith. I also help those who choose to be baptized and become members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to become aquainted with the other members of the church as well as help them feel comfortable and supported as they begin participating in the Church and living the Gospel.
