Hi I'm Kaleb Pontius

I grew up in Europe with the military. I have been to twelve countries. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary for the Church and am serving in the Arizona Tempe mission. I grew up in the military so I have lived in Germany and England, spending my teenage years in England. Because I have grown up overseas I love visiting new places and am interested in other languages; I know a little bit of German and am starting out in Spanish. Languages interest me because when you know a language you hold the key to another world. I also love music and can play the piano, the tenor saxophone, and the guitar. Music is something that has a great effect on your emotions and put you into a sense of peace, and nostalgia. I went to BYU-Idaho for two semesters studying exercise physiology before going on my mission. I got interested in that from playing football in highschool. I also love movies. I've tried to watch a lot of movies, within reason. I also like anything that makes me laugh. I really like to make people laugh, even though half the time I'm playing around when it's isn't the most appropriate. I hope to become a physician's assistant school as my long term goal for my career.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Jesus' true church on the Earth. The reason I know the Church to be true is because of reading the scriptures and prayer. As I read from the scriptures and prayed to know whether the Church was true or not I felt a good feeling that told me that it was true. I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed my life and can bless others and can find their answer if they read from the scriptures, particularly the Book of Mormon, and pray.

How I live my faith

I served in the Arizona Tempe Mission. I was able to teach many people about the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and helped invite them to make covenants with their Heavenly Father.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Kaleb Pontius
Mormons believe in the Bible for the same reason that we believe in the Book of Mormon: it testifies of Jesus Christ. We believe the Book of Mormon is the word of God; however, this does not diminish the importants of the Bible. If it weren't for the Bible, Joseph Smith wouldn't have recieved inspiration from the passage, Jame 1:5, to pray to God to answer his question about which church to join. For this reason if it weren't for the guidance we can recieve from reading scripture, such as the Bible, the LDS Church wouldn't be on the Earth today. Show more Show less
