Hi I'm Bren.

I grew up in Nebraska. I have a degree in Business Administration. I love Graphic Design. I'm a single mom and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an avid reader. Books are both my best friends and my worst enemies! They can keep me occupied, or they can keep my distracted depending on the day. I love knowledge and have a true thirst for all things beyond my understanding. I enjoy crafts, animals, outdoor activities, computer design and graphics, and preforming small acts of service for others when no one is looking. But, most of all, I enjoy spending time with my family at large, and mainly my daughter. I am divorced (something that was never part of my plan in life) and it took me several years to come to understand that it has been one of the biggest blessings in both the life of myself and my daughter. Without this change we would not have had the opportunities for growth that we have had both as individuals but also between the two of us; our relationship has grown into one that will withstand the test of time.

Why I am a Mormon

It could be said that I'm a Mormon because my parents were. But I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know it is The Savior's true church on the earth today. I choose to live in accordance with the standards taught by the LDS church because when I was sixteen years old I knelt down and prayed to my Heavenly Father and asked Him if the Gospel taught there, and within The Book of Mormon was truly His word. I received an answer to my prayer through the feelings prompted by the Holy Spirit deep within my heart. It was a peaceful, calm, happiness that told me "Yes, these things are true." I've never heard the Lord speak to me with words, but that feeling and it's message often returns to me as I read the scriptures, study lessons, listen to or read the words of the Prophets, hear others bare testimony, or listen to uplifting music. That sweet memory brings tears to my eyes almost every time because I am so thankful for the knowledge that Jesus Christ has established His church on the earth again. That we may have the fullness of His Gospel and that He loves us so much that He would provide a way for us to return to His presence. He doesn't want Satan to win the battle for our spirits, He wants us to follow the path He has laid out for us to come home safely. He wants me at His side. And He wants you too.

How I live my faith

Within the LDS church I serve as a part of the women's organization. I help to organize and teach (occasionally) lessons on Sundays. I help to organize and coordinate activities for the single adults ages thirty and older. I live my faith daily by reading scriptures each morning before I begin my day. I have family prayer with my daughter before she goes to school. We pray before we eat to thank our Heavenly Father for our food and to ask a blessing on it. I try to live my faith in all the small and simple ways that bring us closer to our Heavenly Father. I'm human, and have plenty of room for improvement, but am striving to live my faith daily.
