Hi I'm Meagan

I am a wife and mother of two girls. I teach high school and am a wanna be crafter. I was adopted at birth and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. I am one of four children and have amazing parents. I was adopted as a newborn baby, as were two of my siblings. I attended school at Brigham Young University where I studied communications and public relations. Not long after graduating, a wonderful, but unexpected career change occurred. I had the opportunity to teach middle school and loved it! Currently I am a high school teacher and am blessed to be around amazing young people. Although, I am still not sure what I want to be “when I grow up.” I have been married to my sweet and patient husband for almost 10 years and we have been blessed with two sweet daughters. It doesn’t seem that there is lots of spare time, but when I get it I really like to spend time with my family. I am an aspiring sewer, quilter, crafter and runner…although I have yet to come close to mastering any! Reading is a great escape and I am slightly embarrassed to admit that I am a reality TV junkie. I love my family, am thankful for great friends, and am grateful everyday for the blessing of the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a home where the gospel of Jesus Christ was central. My parents were, and continue to be, wonderful examples of how to live the gospel. As a young adult, I truly learned for myself that the things I had been taught were true. Personal ad family trials allowed me to turn to the Lord and to understand His love for me. I have a Heavenly Father who knows me personally. He wants me to be happy to return to Him. I know the Lord hears my prayers and answers them when the time is right. I know that families are eternal, and that I will get to be with my family even after our time on this earth has ended. That knowledge brings me amazing comfort and peace! I am thankful to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. I have read the Book of Mormon and know that the message it contains is the word of God. When I study the scriptures I am able to feel peace in an otherwise noisy world. The scriptures also provide answers prayers. I know that we have a prophet, Thomas S. Monson, who has been called of God. He is the prophet, not only to the members of the church, but also to the world. I am far from perfect, and make mistakes more often than I like, but I know that I because of the atonement I can repent and strive to be better every day.

How I live my faith

Currently I have the opportunity to serve and work with the adult women in my area. Sometimes I get to plan activities, other times I teach lessons on Sundays, and others times I just get to visit with friends. I am always impressed with the strength and determination of the women in the church. I appreciate the examples they set through simply living the teachings of Jesus Christ!
