Hi I'm Mary

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Mary and I have been married for about 23 years. We have 5 children, ages 21 down to 13. I only have one daughter. I went back to college recently to get a bachelors degree in psychology. I grew up on a farm. I have 7 siblings. I enjoy reading, walking, and spending time with my children.

Why I am a Mormon

Living the gospel Jesus Christ has made me a better person. I am given opportunities to serve others. I am encouraged to read the scriptures and pray daily. I want to better myself. I go to church and partake of the sacrament. My family is more united because of family home evening and prayer together. I am kinder to everyone because I know that when I am kind to someone, it is like I am being kind to God. I feel grateful for the gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

I am the leader of the women's organization in my congregation. We provide relief to those who are suffering. We organize and bring in meals to new mothers, or to those who are sick. We work together to help those in other countries who are in need. We teach each other how to cook, can, sew, quilt, and many other worthwhile endeavers. I visit several women each month to see if they are okay and to teach them something to help them improve. I feel like I am lucky to be able to watch over these women, and I learn so much from them too.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

We believe the purpose of life is to get a physical body. Before we were born here on earth, we were spirits. My physical body and my spirit together have experiences. We learn how to take care of this physical body. We make choices. The better we try to be, the closer we come to being like Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
