Hi I'm Christine

I'm a student, I'm a daughter, I'm a friend and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I’m a regular twenty something year old, trying to establish a career and lifestyle that can bring satisfaction and contentment. I am currently concluding a dual bachelor degree in nursing and midwifery. When I’m not studying I love to spend time with my family and friends, going to the beach, taking trips, cooking, watching movies and serving in the women’s organization of our ward (local church).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it’s the sole choice that ensures I find the satisfaction and contentment that I strive for. This isn’t to say that because I chose to study and keep the commandments of God (as a Mormon) that I have a perfect life. However faithful membership and participation in his gospel does give me strength, understanding and courage to endure when life throws you a curved ball, or things just seem a bit too much to handle. I was taught the principles and doctrines as a child, and always accepted the beliefs of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I always felt peace when I contemplated The Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith and the first vision, or the doctrine of modern day prophets on the earth; it always just made sense to me. However there have been times when I felt like it would be easier to make choices that are contrary to the commandments of God and the things I have been taught. At these times of uncertainty I was truly able to evaluate my faith and why I live these principles; each time I questioned I came to the same conclusion which was… its true so live it! Now years later I still choose to continue to have faith. I have challenges like everyone does, however I know that if I trust in the Lord and remain faithful and obedient to his teachings then I will always make it through. I am able to enjoy peace and happiness found in living the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is found in the Mormon Church.

How I live my faith

One of the most important ways that I try and live my faith is in my interactions with my family and friends. The Mormon Church is all about families; we believe our families can be together for eternity. So I figure I should build quality lasting relationships with them now. It’s not always easy, but it’s so important and so rewarding. Other ways I live the gospel of Jesus Christ are by participating in the programs of his church particularly the Young Single Adult (YSA) activities. These programs provide me with amazing friends, fun and activity. This is an aspect of the Mormon Church that I love; there is always something fun to do, or someone to give a helping hand to. These activities help church members, the wider community and those less fortunate, but also provide fun, and fulfilling experiences for my friends and I. I am proud to be a Mormon, having knowledge of the Lords love for me and having membership in his church is invaluable. It gives me strength, it gives me hope and it gives me joy… that kind of satisfaction is rare!
