Hi I'm Michael

I'm a young husband, I love sports and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time with my wife and all my family and friends. I loving having a good laugh with these good people. Family dinners and holidays are some of my favourite times. I love playing and watching sports; especially AFL and Basketball.

Why I am a Mormon

I have aways been taught about the life of Jesus Christ from a young age and this has always resonated with me. I love to read about the Saviour, Jesus Christ in the Bible. How he paused to heal the lepers, the poor in spirit, the sinner wanting to change. The Bible clearly witnesses that Jesus had compassion for people like no one else. Reading about the Saviour's life in the Bible has given me the desire and motivation to follow the example of Jesus to love one another. The scriptures teach that this desire and motivation is the power of the Holy Ghost. Along with the Bible I have spent a lot of time reading and studying the Book of Mormon. Every single page of this book of scripture fills my heart the same desire and motivation I get from reading the Bible to follow the example of the Saviour Jesus Christ. Because of this I know the Book of Mormon is true. Because I know the Book of Mormon is true I have a further witness that Jesus Christ lives today. Because I know the Book of Mormon is true I know that Joseph Smith was truly a Prophet called by God to do a great work. I get the same feelings of the Holy Ghost when I listen to the current Apostle and Prophets speak today.

How I live my faith

For me the greatest ways to live my faith is to follow the Saviours' command to "love one another as I have loved you'. Jesus Christ set the perfect example of how to do this and I think it's most important to try to live this way. As I read of Jesus Christ's life in the Bible and Book of Mormon I feel motivated to follow his example in loving others. As with all people, my family members are the most important people to me on this earth. Showing love to them and helping them in anyway is one of the greatest ways that I live my faith. In 2011, when I was living in Queensland, we experienced a terrible flood which wrecked thousands of homes. The Sunday during the floods I attended church with over 100 people. The Leader of the Congregation asked that we have a short meeting and then dispense with all normal classes so we could go and help people affected by the floods. We all went home, got changed and then set out to help clean out houses, scrub walls, move rubbish and other jobs. This to me is how to live my Faith. I like how James put it, "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." James 1:27 To me being a Mormon means being kind to people and helping others in their need.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No we do not worships Joseph Smith. We worship God the Father and Jesus Christ the Saviour. Joseph Smith was a great Prophet who the Lord called to restore Gospel truths to the earth. Joseph Smith himself devoted his life to teaching people how to worship God the Father and Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

We believe in and follow the teachings of the Bible as it is the word of God. It is an account of prophets and apostles who were inspired by God to write words that would teach the world concerning Jesus Christ. The Bible is so precious as it contains a first hand account of the life of Jesus Christ - that means everything to us! We strive to follow Jesus Christ and that is made possible through learning about his life in the Bible. I love the Bible! Show more Show less
