Hi I'm Michelle Leon-Hoyos

Peruvian, 28 years old. I love computers and music. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I’m 28 years old. I've got lovely family. I study English as a second Language. I met the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2002, I’ve been blessed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I found good friends and leaders there who help me to be a better person.

Why I am a Mormon

My first time I went to a church meeting was a Seminary class, a cousin invited me and I felt really good, then I wanted to go to a Sunday meeting, finally I talked to the missionaries and I became a member of the church in 2003. To be honest, I wasn’t a religion guy, but I felt I needed to learn more about God and Jesus. The missionaries talked about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon, so I read it and pray to know if the things that I heard and read were true. Since that time I wanted to join the church. I had some trials and I had to wait for a few months, but finally I got baptised in January 2003. As I attended to church and some classes like Seminary and Institutes, my understanding about the Gospel and the commandments were increasing. I found good friends and leaders who cares about me. They want me to keep the commandments and be more like Jesus. Now I know the things I have to do to return to my Heavenly Father someday. That’s why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith praying many times a day, trying to serve people, and doing my best wherever I am. Every Sunday I teach children from 8 – 11 years old about the Gospel of Jesus Christ at church. During the week I try to do some activities which help me to be closer to my Heavenly Father. Even when I am imperfect and I make mistakes, Jesus Christ helps me to improve my life day by day.
