Hi I'm John

I'm a Mormon. I am a retired senior citizen and have been a Mormon all my life. I live in Arizona.

About Me

I am a retired aerospace engineer, a father, a grandfather, and a husband. I enjoy traveling with my wife visiting our children and other relatives and sometimes other countries. I enjoy caring for our yard and property and doing general handyman jobs. A past hobby was auto mechanics. I have enjoyed building and flying rubber band powered model airplanes. I love reading. I love music, mainly classical. All of our daughters are accomplished violinists and have college degrees and teach private lessons. Our youngest son is an assistant band director at a large high school.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life. I am thankful to have had parents who taught me correct principles. I continue to embrace these principles and try to pass them on to my children and grandchildren. I have found that these principles, when applied, lead to happiness, security, and satisfaction. I have faith in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and look forward to an eternity of association with family and loved ones.

How I live my faith

I have always enjoyed participating in my local congregation (ward). I believe strongly that there are blessings for the payment of tithing and other offerings. There are blessings for participation in service projects. I often volunteer to serve at welfare farms operated by the church and at other welfare institutions sponsored by the church. I have always held a church calling, sometimes working with youth in scouting programs. I have served as a Sunday teacher as well as a home teacher. I have made acquaintances that will last throughout life through my service in the church. My wife and I served together for 18 months as record preservation missionaries in an eastern city. We prepared digital images of very old documents that will be placed in a data base that can be accessed on the internet for family history research.
