Hi I'm Matt.

I married my lovely high school sweetheart. I follow politics like most guys follow sports. I am an architect. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have three wonderful kids with my high school sweetheart. I grew up sweeping up sawdust and picking up garbage on my dad's construction sites. I think being around construction as a kid is what first made me want to be an architect. I have a degree in graphic design and one in architecture. I enjoy waterskiing, reading, history and politics. I am a photography buff and a firearms enthusiast. I hate shaving. Most of all, I love spending time with my family. They are everything to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church but that is not why I stay. Growing up I studied the Bible and the Book of Mormon but they never meant a lot to me or really moved me. However, when I first read the Book of Mormon cover to cover for myself that is when I feel I began the process of coming to Christ. I began to feel real remorse for my previous ways. I repented and prayed for forgiveness. I felt truly born again. I wanted to follow Christ and it was the Book of Mormon that made me feel that way for the first time in my life. There is a part in the book that urges readers to pray and ask if it is true. I prayed many times but one night after a few weeks of sincere prayer I felt a unique feeling that I haven't felt since that the Book of Mormon was indeed true. I also stay a Mormon because I feel the church itself is such an inspired organization, that it is truly the restored ancient church that Jesus himself established on the earth with his 12 apostles almost 2000 years ago.

How I live my faith

I work with the cub scouts at church. We do fun activities and learn lots of cool stuff about the outdoors, camping, science and having good character.
