Hi I'm Paul

I am married, father of 5 and grandfather of 5. I own a business. I am involved in my community. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My greatest joy in life is my wife of 32 years, our 2 adult sons, 3 adult daughters, 2 daughters in law, and 1 son in law...and, our , and 5 grandchildren. I had heard this grandparenting stuff was fun, but who knew, how fun? Our 2 little guys and 3 little girls are blessings we cannot begin to describe. I own a small business. It is challenging, but I love creating a positive culture, where team members embrace and practice the Golden Rule. I am involved in my community in health care reform, Olympic hosting aspirations, and in politics.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that it embodies the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are authentic New Testament Christians - we rely completely on the Grace of Jesus Christ, not just for the mercy embodied in it, but for the enabling power of grace which empowers us to become all that we can become - both here on earth, and in the hereafter. I am a Mormon, because through this faith, I understand what it means to say that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior. He is my Savior, and He is my example, and He is my friend. I am a Mormon because I know the Bible is the word of God, and because I have a companion scripture to the Bible - the Book of Mormon - that also testifies that Jesus is the Christ, and that helps me fully understand the Savior's Atonement, my reliance upon Him, and His expectation of me. I am a Mormon, because the principles and practices of this church inform and enrich every part of my life. For example, I understand the potential of my relationships with my wife, my children and my grandchildren. That potential informs the efforts I make to love them, and it informs the way I treat them. I understand, as children of God, that all people are indeed brothers and sisters. Because of this, I understand, how we should treat and behave toward each other. I am a Mormon, because it gives me constant opportunity to serve others, to experience and to become in this Laboratory of Life the kind of person the Savior would want me to be. I am a Mormon because I learn correct principles on how to live a happy, fulfilling life, and on how to avoid conduct that would inevitably lead to heartbreak, sorrow, and pain. I am a Mormon, because I am happy living the pricinples of this Church.

How I live my faith

I serve with the youth in our congregation. My broad responsibility is for all young men aged 12-18 and my specific responsibility is with 16, 17 and 18 year olds. I teach them gospel and life principles every Sunday, and on every Tuesday, we participate together in a Boy Scouts Venture Crew, where we teach life skills, career opportunities, and plan and participate in outdoor high adventure activities. With a church friend, we look after 3 families, helping them through life's trials, and sharing life's triumphs. These 3 families, may not necessarily be friends, if we were not asked to assist, teach, and watch over them. Being involved with them, helping them through serious illness, finacial difficulty, and other challenges of life, and in sharing life's triumphs with them, has blessed my life in immeasurable ways.
