Hi I'm April

I am a missionary! I am a superstar! I am a member of Alyson's Fan Club! I am a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Idaho. I have always been someone who likes to use my imagination. From the time I was three I was immitating characters in movies, playing with my cousins, and creating all kinds of fantasty worlds and scenarios. I love to read and I always have. Other kids in school would make fun of me because I would take the literature book home on the first day of school and read it for fun. I wanted to be in a play since I was old enough to know what they were. I finally got my chance in High School and have been hooked ever since. I love to write stories. Mostly I write Science Fiction and Fantasy. I remember being really young and watching this video called Lorenzo. It was a sing-a-long with church songs in it and one of them was, "I Hope They Call Me On a Mission." I would watch that and say to myself. "Yeah, I am going on a mission someday!" Two decades later, I am in Houston Texas serving as a missionary. I love teaching people, especially when what I teach reminds them of who they are and they are able to take what I teach and make decisions that lead to happiness in their lives. I love the growth that comes with learning, and with teaching.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both Latter-day Saints, and I was baptized when I was eight. I am a member because I know we lived with God before we came to earth, and that is very important to me. The eternal nature of the soul is a beautiful thing. To know that we lived with God before we came here, that He cares about us and guides us in this life, and that we can return and live with Him again, is something I am passionate about. I also enjoy the blessings and peace that come with being in the Temple. It truly is the House of God. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet. I have read many of his teachings and his words, and I get a wonderful feeling of how sacred they are. He had many things revealed to him by God.

How I live my faith

Right now I am serving a full time mission. That means that I came from Idaho to Texas to teach other's about Jesus Christ and how through the atonement and the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ we can obtain eternal salvation and peace and happiness in this life. Being a missionarry is challenging and rewarding. We have the opportunity to talk to a lot of people. One of the chapters in Preach My Gospel (Basically our guidebook) is titled Talk to Everyone, because we want to offer all people the chance to learn about how we can live with God again.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

We know that God loves us and that He welcomes our love. He is a perfect being and we know that we can always trust Him. He is forgiving. Show more Show less
