Hi I'm George

I am a father of six, a grandfather of twelve, a semi-retired engineer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a civil engineer by profession. I would be retired except that I started a home-based consulting business that keeps me busy. I have one wife, six children and twelve grandchildren who bring great joy to my life. I enjoy outdoor activities like camping and fishing. I enjoy working with tools to build and fix things. I enjoy music and sing in church choir and have a collection Irish whistles that I play for fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon because God took a personal interest in my progression. He inspired me to seek for truth and purpose in life. For many years, I studied religions and philosophies in that search. At times felt closer to God, but then got side-tracked by things of the world. When I was about 24 years old, I came to realize that the world offered no lasting happiness and I renewed my search for things of God. I started to read the Bible with a focus on our Savior's ministry in Jerusalem. I started to follow His example and after several months, began to feel a closeness to God that I had not felt before. My heart was filled with gratitude as I felt that I had finally found the new direction that I had been seeking. But God had other plans. One day, I answered a knock at my door and opened it to two missionaries who introduced themselves as representatives of Jesus Christ and asked if they could share a message with me. They told me that God had spoken to modern day prophets and that the Church of Jesus Christ had been restored to the earth. They told me about Heavenly Father's plan for his children and our purpose here on earth. I realized that the message was an answer to my prayers. It all made sense to me and I accepted the message and joined the church soon afterwards.

How I live my faith

I continue to read from the scriptures and pray every day to have the guidance of the Holy Spirit. I serve as a missionary in my home ward and work with the full-time missionaries.
