Hi I'm Duane

I am the father of 4 children and I'm married to my sweetheart. I work in the field of genomic medicine, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Phoenix area and attended graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in International Communications. I served a church mission to the Tokyo North mission and loved and enjoyed learning thier culture and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am married and enjoy four beautiful children. My hobbies are my family, sports, outdoor activities, exercising and music. I enjoy taking family vacations and spending time relaxing on the beach. I am very active in the church and love the ward I serve in. I have served as the bishop of our ward for the last several years and enjoy serving and working with such great people. I work in the field of Genomic Medicine and have been working in the healthcare arena for the last 15 years. My family is the most important thing to me and I enjoy each day with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am proud to say that I'm a Mormon. I grew up in a home that was centered around the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My parents and grandparents and their ancestry are faithful members of the church. I am blessed to have come from a lineage of strong, faithful saints. I'm very grateful for my pioneer heritage and the example and dedication that they lived by. I grew up very committed to living the standards of the church. As a youth, it wasn't always easy to live the standards, but I was never faced with strong temptations because of the great youth I had chosen to associate with. I will always be thankful for my friends I grew up with for their great example and friendship. They made high school such a great and positive experience. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and my Savior. I am grateful for his atoning sacrafice that allows me to be forgiven for my mistakes and weaknesses. I love the fact that we have living prophets and apostles just as in the Saviors time on earth. I love President Monson and those great men and women that work directly with him. I love his compassion and trust in each one of us and his support to become better people while here on this earth. I am so thankful for the understanding of eternal families. My most precious gift is my temple covenants and my eternal marriage to my wife. I know that I will have the opportunity to spend eternity with my family as long as I live worthy of my covenants and blessings. I enjoy serving in the church and the blessings that are associated with service. I love my fellowman, and am grateful for their service to me and my family.

How I live my faith

I love to live my faith by serving others. I have the opportunity to serve in many areas of my community and church. I have enjoyed working with Boy Scouts for many years as well as serving with the youth of my church. I have great opportunities to serve in the leadership of many wards and stakes. I have served as a counselor to the Bishop on a few occasions and have had opportunity to serve with the Stake Presidency as a member of the high counsel. I am currently serving as the Bishop of my church. I have had this great opportunity for the past several years. I love the people I have opportunity to work with and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love helping others come closer to their Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ by their exercising obedience and faithfullnes to the Lord. I am active in my community having been a coach on various youth sports programs over the years. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve, as that is what the Savior has done for me.
