Hi I'm John

I grew up in Arizona. I served a mission in Tijuana, Mexico. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second of eight children and have been happily married now for seven years. I am currently working on a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration and so excited to be half way done. I enjoy most sports, both watching and playing. I also enjoy cooking which is more of a hobby than anything. I am most happy when spending time with my wife, I am really grateful for her.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church, but everyone at some point in their life has to have their own conversion. While serving my mission I received the news that my parents would be divorcing. This was not the type of information that I thought I would ever get. The day I found out was a diffcult one and I felt horrible. I also could not imagine what my brothers and sisters at home were feeling. This caused great pain in my family. Now several years later things have improved. My brothers and sisters and I remain strong in the church and my parents, though still divorced, are woking on improving their own lives. I know that as I grew up I did rely on the testimony of others but I gained my own testimony as I read the scriptures and strived to live the principles of the gospel. While on my mission I saw people, who lives had been a lot tougher than mine, converted to the gospel because of the peace it can bring. I continue to live the gospel because it does bring peace to me. I know that what we do here is important and that through the atonement of Christ and by living the principles of the gospel we can enjoy peace and happiness.

How I live my faith

I try and live my faith by following through with the things that I have committed to do. I have committed to be a good husband to my wife, to obey the laws of God; like tithing, to serve in the church and to give meaningful service others. In my ward I serve as a home teacher where I visit different families to help make sure that their needs are being met and to help them with anything that they may need. I also help with the ward missionaries where we teach a Gospel Principles class each Sunday about the most essential Principles of the Gospel. We also coordinate with the full time missionaries and help them find and teach others who want to learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
