Hi I'm Becky

I'm a Colorado native and have lived there my whole life. I'm a wife, a mother of three and a grandmother of one. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as an Administrative Assistant for a school district. I've been married to my high school sweetheart for over 29 years. I'm the mother of one wonderful son, two beautiful daughters, one fantastic daughter-in-law, one great son-in-law and the world's cutest grandbabies. I love going to movies, reading, and camping. I love to sew and have created clothing for myself, family and friends for years. I play the piano , the clarinet and sing, but I can't dance. Music has always been a big part of my life. I bake a terrific apple pie, but can't bake bread. When I have time, I love to ride bikes and run. I have always been interested in journalism and writing and think that one day, maybe when I retire, I'd love to write.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a Mormon. I have always known the Gospel of Jesus Christ to be true. Although I didn't always understand everything as a small child, I continued to learn and as a teenager on a trip with other youth from church to a church history pageant, I felt an overwhelming feeling that what I was seeing was absolutely true. I knew the feeling was the Holy Ghost testifying of the truthfulness of the gospel to me. Although I made a few bad decisions at times in my life, I have never doubted the truthfulness of the gospel and I strive to keep the covenants I made at my baptism when I was eight years old. Because I know the gospel to be absolutely true, I know that I must live my life in accordance with the commandments in order to receive the blessings that have been promised to me by my Heavenly Father if I keep them. This is what I remember every day of my life when I get up in the morning and go to bed at night. There is just no other way for me to live.

How I live my faith

I am currently the Relief Society President in my ward. This is a new calling for me and it is a great responsibility. I serve all of the sisters in my ward by making sure that spiritual and temporal needs are being met. I make sure that teachers and other leaders are in place to help the program run smoothly. The biggest part of my calling is to make sure that they all know of the love of their Heavenly Father and of all the members of their ward family. I have spent many years working with the youth and primary children. I've been a pianist for choir, primary and relief society. I spent many years volunteering at my chidren's schools with band, choir and drama programs. I have played the piano for programs, musicals and kids' competitions. I helped build sets, sew costumes and chaperone trips. I helped organize a group of young women at church to participate in a community paint-a-thon, which was great fun.
