Hi I'm Melissa

I grew up in a small community in Idaho. I'm a speech-language pathologist. I love working with children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 29 years old. I have been a member of the church my entire life and grew up in a community full of other Mormons. After high school, I went to college, worked for a while, went back to college, did service work in Russia, went to more school, started my first career, decided to go back for more school, got into graduate school, met my husband, got married at 27, graduated, moved across country, and started my second career. I have lived all over the west. My husband and I have no children... yet. I love to knit, read, watch 'The Cosby Show', camp, eat yummy food, cook, and travel! I love everything antique, kitties, my family, and working with young children who have special needs.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. At 8 years of age, I was baptized. The church was a big part of my life growing up and is the reason I am the person I am today. I have not always been strong in the church, and at times I have wandered. But even through times of inactivity, I knew that the only way to true happiness was through the Gospel. I am thankful for the happiness and peace that the church brings to my life. I am so grateful for a loving husband, who I am sealed to for time and all eternity. I look forward to starting our family together, and have peace knowing I have the strength of the Gospel and the knowledge of my Heavenly Father's plan to guide me in that process. I am thankful for The Savior, Jesus Christ. I love the temple. I am so happy to be a member of His church.

How I live my faith

My husband and I just recently moved into a new ward, in a new area, where we new 1 couple. We have actually been given an assignment to help others in the ward create profiles on Mormon.org. In our previous ward we were given the calling to teach the toddlers in the ward. It was an amazing calling that helped us not only teach, but re-learn the basic core principles of the Gospel. I live my faith by being an example to others and showing Christ-like love to all those that I come in contact with.
