Hi I'm Jennifer

I'm a Mormon. I am a mother of 4 children and proud grandma to 13 grandchildren. I am a native Coloradoan who loves the outdoors.

About Me

I am a rancher's daughter, born and raised in Colorado. I value the simple things in life such as family, home, good friends, and the beauties of nature (especially the Colorado Mountains). I love camping and hiking. I also enjoy good music of all kinds. I play the piano and organ but mostly for my own pleasure. I love to play tennis and racquetball and enjoy competing in summer leagues with my tennis buddies. I attended Brigham Young University where I majored in Zoology and minored in Botany. I always was interested in the science of living things and how amazingly everything works together. While attending BYU I met my husband. We were married for 40 years before he passed away three years ago. We have 4 children and 13 grandchildren who are the light of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this church my entire life coming from pioneer heritage on both sides of my family. That being said it was still necessary for me to come to my own conclusions about the beliefs and practices of Mormonism. Having tested it's teachings by personal experiences I know that it is true. The teachings of this church answer my questions about my life and its purposes. I find peace in knowing my family can be an eternal family. I know that God lives and that it is through His son, Jesus Christ, that these blessings can come to pass because of His mercy and His love for me. I am happiest when I am actively engaged in living the principles of service and obedience which are fundamental to this gospel. I learn of my Father in Heaven and His Son as I read the Bible and the other books of scripture. Jesus Christ's example gives me a guide to follow as I make decisions about my own life. This gospel makes sense to me and it is my pathway to happiness.

How I live my faith

I try every day to be better than I was yesterday. Many times I fall short but the goal is always set before me. I believe even one person can make a difference and I want to make a difference to someone everyday...even if it is just to brighten their day with a smile or kind word. I am involved in my local church activities as I work with the young women youth group ages 12 - 14. I do volunteer work at the local temple each week which brings me great joy. I volunteer my limited musically abilities whenever I can. I try to be a good neighbor, to be friendly and kind and helpful where I can. I try to be an example of honesty and integrity in my community and to be a voice for good and moral values. I try to recognize the good in all faiths and accept people for who they are.
