Hi I'm Shane

I'm Native American(Navajo), A Farmer/Rancher, A Wrestler, A Hunter and I'm A Mormon

About Me

Im from a small town in New Mexico, where everyone pretty much knows everyone. I like to hunt, fish and do anything outdoors. I work on a farm/Ranch with my Dad and Brothers. I love to wrestle, i've wrestle since I was a little kid and i love the sport I plan on chasing the dream to wrestle in college after my mission and wroking on the farm/ranch with my Dad. I look up to my Dad alot he has taught me so much and I have learned so much from him. I would not be the young man today if it was not for my Dad being there to encourage me and always telling me to have the "Just Do it " attitude. He was my inspiration to serve a mission, Im serving in the Alaska Anchorage Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Im a Mormon because I was raised in the Church with my Mom and Brothers. I went to church with my Grandma and Aunt and my family at the church in New Mexico. They are the ones who introduced me and I was baptized at age 9 by a awesome missionary. I did my best to follow the teaching and doing my best to live the Gospel. In high school I fell away from the church and started doing somethings that were not the smartest things. I thought doing these things were fun and cool but at the end of every dumb thing always had this feeling in my head that this not the way, you know better then doing this. I kept on in high school graduating and finishing football and wrestling and I told myself i was going to change. i really didnt start to change I kept on being the same ol guy working and doing dumb things on the weekend. I had a changing point in my life that made me realized what I was doing was not the way. I had to spend a long night in a place where not any parent wanted there child even Our Heavenly Father. I felt alone and thought this was not the life I wanted, this was the first time I really prayed to our Heavenly Father. I remember asking for help and forgiveness and if I were to get out of this mess I would do whatever he wanted me to do. The next couple of weeks I was searching and and praying alot and the one thing that I kept getting was serve your Mission. I always wanted to serve a mission since i was baptized because I saw what the missionaries were doing and how much fun they had. I stepped up to the plate and had the "Just Do it" attitude and talked with my bishop and with my Heavenly Father through prayer and I knew in my heart I must go and serve my mission. The Atonement is made for everyone and Im very thankful for it, with out the Atonement I would never be where Iam now. I love this Gospel and im thankful for it being in my life and blessing my families life and the people Im able to help here in Alaska.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best each and everyday and always striving to keep the commandments, Im not perfect at it but I put forth my best effort. It not always easy and sometimes can be rough but you have to do your best and the Lord will do the rest. As long as I try to my best I know that My Heavenly Father is always proud of me.
