Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a Husband and Father, a Hoosier, an attorney, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like politics, reading, and travel. I am a proud husband and father of four. I am an attorney for the poor, but I only do civil cases.

Why I am a Mormon

I try my best to keep the commandments because I know that God exists and that he loves me. He wants me to work hard and be clean. I Know that the Book of Mormon and all of the other scriptures are true because Heavenly Father has given me special experiences where I have felt the love and light of the Holy Ghost. I cannot, and will not deny those experiences, and why would I want to? Life can be hard, but the reason we are here is to be tested, and I want to live to return to my Heavenly Father in happiness. I am so grateful for what the prophets are doing for me now, and what all of the past prophets have done for me too. I hope and try to do everything that they counsel me to do. Everyone comes up short, but through the atonement of Jesus Christ, I am forgiven if I always do the best that I can do.

How I live my faith

I try to read the scriptures every day, even if it is just a little bit. I attend church every Sunday, and I visit members of my church every month to share with them the teachings of the prophets. I like to bless my children with the priesthood that I hold. I also like to discuss the gospel with others.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Heavenly father understands that not everybody knew about Jesus Christ or about the restored gospel. For those who passed on without that knowledge, we (I) get baptized for them and they have the opportunity to accept or reject that baptism in the world of the spirits. Show more Show less

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Jesus Christ is the founder of our church. He works through prophets today as he has in Old and New Testaments. After the death of the original twelve apostles, there was a "falling away" as Paul wrote to Timothy, and there were no ordained prophets for many centuries. There were many good people throughout this time who were sincere Christians who did their best to worship God without God's true church being on the earth. In 1820, the Lord saw it fit to call another prophet to restore the gospel to what it was under the original Twelve Apostles. God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared as two separate beings to Joseph Smith in a grove of trees in Palmyra New York. He called him to restore God's true church to the earth again. God, through Joseph Smith, gave the world the Book of Mormon and many new revelations to lay the foundation of his church and to proclaim his gospel to the earth in the latter days. What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is an ancient record of the people living in North and South America before and after the birth of Christ. Mormon is a prophet-historian who compiled and condensed nearly 1000 years of the people's spiritual history. The purpose of the Book of Mormon is to bring souls unto Christ. In the early nineteenth century, God allowed this record to be revealed to Joseph Smith, a young and uneducated man who had already been called to be a prophet and restore the Lord's church to the earth. Through the power of God, Joseph translated it into the English language. Show more Show less
