Hi I'm T.J.

I grew up in Utah and currently live in Arizona while I'm working on my MBA degree. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 27 year old father of two wonderful children. My son is 3 years old and my daughter is 1. I've been happily married to my beautiful wife for 5 years now. I am currently halfway through my MBA degree and enjoy learning. I've lived in Utah, Arizona and Mexico for 2 years. I enjoy traveling and have been on humanitarian projects to Kenya, Nepal, and Guatemala. I have a work background in construction and real estate development, as well as commercial property management. I enjoy sports, spending time outdoors, and photography.

Why I am a Mormon

Since the day I was born I have actively been involved with this church. My parents took me and my siblings to church every week, even when on vacations, and taught us right from wrong. There came a time in my life, when I was about 17 when I really had to know for myself that attending this church was right and true and what God wanted me doing. I searched the scriptures and prayed diligently until I received my answer and now I can honestly say I know how God wants me to live my life. I'm Mormon because the teachings of this church help me understand my purpose in life. I know God loves me and wants me to be happy. As I try to live how he wants me to I am blessed with peace, joy and happiness that cannot be found elsewhere. Many people think Mormons are restricted and have too many rules to live by but it is really just the opposite. By obedience I find that i become free. As John 7:17 says- "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." I have found that if I live the way God wants me too, he blesses me so that I am free and happy much more so than if I had lived how the world sees freedom. I invite you to try it too, pick a commandment, do it and see if you are blessed. The teachings of this church make so much sense and are so clear to me. By living a righteous life I know that I can live with my family forever, not just till death. What great joy that brings me! That is one of the many reasons why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day in the way I live my life. I have opportunities within the church to serve and bless others through teaching monthly messages to families in the neighborhood, service projects, helping maintain a clean chapel to worship in, and so many other ways. Most importantly to me, I have the opportunity to teach my children the way that God wants them to live. I have heard it said that love is spelled T-I-M-E. As I spend time with my family doing appropriate activities our love for each other grows stronger. My parents taught me this principle and I hope I am effectively teaching it to my children as well.
